Joseph is the owner of Northeast Mountain Guiding and a government contractor with the DOD, DOJ & DHS. He has been a full-time mountain guide and mountain rescue instructor for over 15 years and heavily involved in both industries for over 20 years. He is the founder of the 'Outdoor Adventure & Education' industry with the US Department of Labor. He is also the founder of several search & rescue teams throughout the United States. He is the author of the Mountain Leader Handbook, Garden State Climbing and several other books.
Vice President & Co-Founder
Rose has been a board member with the AHGA since 2010 and just appointed to Vice President in 2022. She brings US Air Force SERE training experience, as well as program evaluation, data analysis and grant writing skills. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology & Chemistry, a Masters in Kinesiology and a PhD ABD in Kinesmetrics.

Rebekah has a Master's in Psychology, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Behavior Specialist.
She has approximately 20 years working with children, but currently works primarily with children on the Autism spectrum. Some of her favorite hiking companions are

She has approximately 20 years working with children, but currently works primarily with children on the Autism spectrum. Some of her favorite hiking companions are her husband, son and two dogs. She's been leading hikes with Hikerbabes for approximately 4 years.
-When she's not hiking, she also enjoys reading or you can find her outdoors trout fishing or crabbing with her dad, kayaking, camping and traveling to new places. She's lived in southeast PA her whole life. Her favorite hike that she's done is Angel's Landing in Zion National Park. She loves challenging hikes, especially those with heights, chains or iron rungs.

Erin has a BBA in finance from the University of North Florida. She has worked in the equine industry for over 10 years, managing elite level show jumpers. She now works as an assistant guide and is the Chief of Operations of Northeast Mountain Guiding in New Jersey. Erin is an avid hiker, mountain biker, and climber; and can be found adventuring outside in any weather with her dog, Colby.

Her time is also shared with her beloved children, fiancé, fur babies, and houseplants.
Deborah is a licensed social worker, clinician, author, and avid hiker. She has extensive
experience working with individuals in settings that provide trauma-informed care services. Deborah enjoys getting involved in projects that support her passions. She also volunteers as the Trail Supervisor for the Southwest section of Harriman State

Alan has been guiding for more than 30 years and was instrumental in creating and implementing the national guide training program currently in use by the American Mountain Guides Association. In 1990 he was field examined and certified as a Level II Rock Guide, the highest rock guide certification in the US. He founded the United States Mountain Guides Association (USMGA) in 2001 and served as it’s Vice-President for two years. In 2005 he co-founded the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA). He was a member of the Technical Committee for the Professional Climbing Guides Institute (PCGI) in 2011.He has trained and certified hundreds of aspiring rock guides and continues to introduce climbers and guides of all experience levels to the tricks of the trade. Many of the techniques popularized in current books and magazines, as well as technical systems taught by guides in the US, were devised by Alan.

Matt was a former US Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer. He was also a US Special Forces Green Beret with the 5/19th SF Group in Colorado. Matt was the Vice President of Northeast Mountain Guiding and the owner of Wilderness Warrior Mentoring. Matt sadly passed away January 12, 2022.

Jenn holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and in Astronomy and Astrophysics from The Pennsylvania State University. She also has an MBA with emphasis in Technology Management from The University of Phoenix. Jenn is a PHGA certified Level II Backpacking Guide and is a Lead Backpacking Guide for Northeast Mountain Guiding. She currently resides near Knoxville, Tennessee.
